Activities:

1. Draw a large pyramid. Draw pictures on it that show life in our country.

2. Make a list showing how the seasons affect life and work in your community.

3. Use the weather map in your newspaper to predict the weather in the United States. Where will it rain or snow in the next few days?

4. List the seven days of the week on a piece of paper. Find something in the newspaper that you would like to do for each day.

5. Find five people, places or events in the newspaper that show the accomplishments of our civilization. Explain why they are important.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them. This week's standard:

  • Students understand the characteristics, distribution and migration of human populations on Earth’s surface.(Geography: Human Systems)
